And while I'm posting today's birds, here's one of two tree swallows I saw up at the cemetery outside town where they always return this time of year. Of course I love seeing them at the lake an hour away where there are loads of them but there's also something heart-lifting about seeing them faithfully returning to this one wooden box high on the hill every year. 💙

Tree swallows! They’re my silly little guys and they’re pretty common here.

Big fan of how they just swoop everything that gets close to their nest. (That poor poor mockingbird that decided to use the top of the birdhouse as a perch and got swooped so so many times)

Saw so many tree swallows this morning I got myself motion sick trying to count them flying! They're really so beautiful to watch. And I'm impressed at how grippy those tiny feet are since it was windy enough to knock me back a few times.
